Five trends that bring colour to spring

The fashion world is constantly changing. Besides fleeting micro-trends, we spot one big trend next spring: designers full-on opt for maximalism. Curious about what the other trends are? Discover the must-haves for this spring here.

Change is a constant in fashion. Micro-trends make their way from the catwalk to the streetscape and ... quickly give way to another micro-trend. Next spring/summer, designers will fully embrace maximalism.
Accessories should not be purely functional, but draw all the attention to themselves. They may contain a playful wink or a hefty dose of glamour. We introduce you to the most striking fashion trends for next spring.

Five eye-catching spring trends

1. We like big bags & we cannot lie

Micro bags are and remain beautiful! Next season, however, big bags make their comeback. Extraordinary and out of proportion. After all, a spacious tote bag can hold everything you want. The only thing left to do is colour. ChloƩ goes for sleek and white, while Balenciaga goes bold with this beautiful chain bag. Fendi and Wandler are also on board with the big bag trend, with this calfskin tan shoulder bag as the eye-catcher. Perfect for any occasion!

2. Time to shine

Lovers of shiny materials are in for a treat this spring. Picture this: oversized blazer and jeans, shiny heels underneath and ditto bag. With these golden slingbacks by Gianvito Rossi or Prada, you will be the star in the sun. Complete the look with the matching Prada Satin Bag, set with crystals. Designers also thought of fans of all things pink. A baby pink Fendi bag and bright pink satin Gianvito Rossi mules? It's definitely time to shine!

3. Do the denim

Everything is coming back if you wait long enough. Already the comeback of the fashion year is the full denim look, back from the 90s. Bottega Veneta got the jean trend right with padded mules and this gorgeous lambskin leather shoulder bag. Fashion house Balenciaga brings a denim version of the Neo Cagole City Handbag, perfect to empower any casual silhouette.

4. Ballet is back

Endlessly elegant yet comfortable? We are fans of the ballerina! Essential in your shoe wardrobe next season. Do you go for classic black or natural beige by Balenciaga? Or go for a pair of gold Pradas? Either way, the fashion world is at your feet!

5. Keep your heels high

Make high heels your fashion statement this spring. Black always works well, like these classics from Prada. Fendi adds a subtle touch of gold. Crazy heels are also totally okay and 100% lovable. How about a nail polish bottle as a heel at Loewe? Then again, Jil Sander reconciles the trend with our desire for comfort in a voluminous block heel.
