Balenciaga

When the Spanish Cristobal Balenciaga settled in Paris in 1937, he had already a succesful career of 20 years as a designer. He was immediatly noticed by the Paris fashion scene. The young Christian Dior and later Yves Saint Laurent were among his fans. His vision of modern femininity is still very influential.

Under later impulse of designers such as Nicolas Ghesquire, Alexander Wang and now Demna Gvasalia, the intelectual heritage of Cristobal Balenciaga is further developed and appreciated.
